A Complex Legacy System with No Documentation

CRCOMM needed to redesign Lines Manager, one of their main internal applications for managing betting lines. The application was outdated in style, performance, and technology — and critically, there was no documentation of the complex functionality. The MVP targeted large desktop under strict supervision from company management to respect application guidelines.

descriptionNo documentation

The complex application had zero documentation — requiring extensive research just to understand existing functionality before design could begin.

menuConfusing navigation

No clear main menu or logical structure — users relied on institutional knowledge to navigate the system.

adjustMy Brief

Document the existing application, restructure the information architecture, create wireframes and UI prototypes, and build the frontend in Angular/Bootstrap — all under close management supervision to preserve domain accuracy.

Building Understanding from Scratch

User Interviews

Management and lines movers

Detected important bugs and issues through direct conversations with the people who used the application daily.

Application Documentation

Full audit of undocumented system

Created comprehensive documentation from scratch — mapping every screen, action, and workflow in the complex application.

Documentation is design work. When there's no documentation, creating it isn't a prerequisite to design — it IS design. The documentation process revealed the application's structure, uncovered bugs, and surfaced user pain points simultaneously.
Complex domains require earned trust.Working under close management supervision wasn't a constraint — it was a feature. In domain-heavy applications like betting lines management, stakeholder proximity ensures accuracy that no amount of independent research can match.
